“Twenty-two years on Valley rooftops. One shop of my own, opened this year, and every hearth we touch treated like it is my own mother's mantel.”
I opened this shop on Strathern Street in 2025 with one truck, one apprentice, and a hand-drawn logo taped to the office door. What we have is small — three trucks, three crews, one dispatcher who happens to be the owner. What we bring to your Van Nuys ranch or Sherman Oaks Spanish revival is not company tenure. It is my tenure.
Before this shop I spent twenty-two years on rooftops all over Van Nuys, Sherman Oaks, Panorama City, and the Valley. Post-war ranch flues, 1929 Batchelder-tile hearths, mid-century clinker-brick surrounds. Now I bring that trade back to my own shop and to the neighbors on the other side of the Sepulveda pass.
Real Van Nuys, Sherman Oaks, and Panorama City homeowners — each set on a mid-century postcard the way we file them at the shop. Real invoices, real signatures, real neighbors we have served since opening this year.
Bought our Van Nuys ranch on Kester Ave last year — original 1954 fireplace had not been touched since who knows when. Van-Nuys Chimney came out same-week, camera scoped the whole flue. Found original brick still solid but seventy years of creosote to clean out. Miriam did the sweep herself, drop cloths from the driveway through the living room. Ranch house feels safe again for the winter.
Sherman Oaks 1929 Spanish colonial with a beautiful Batchelder-tile fireplace surround. Original chimney needed emergency repointing after the January rain and I was terrified of losing the tile. Marcus tented the whole hearth, worked around every piece of original tile, and matched the 1929 mortar tint by hand. First fire in the parlor last week — every original tile still in place.
Building a mid-century remodel in Panorama City. Wanted a sealed gas insert without butchering the original clinker-brick surround. Their team designed a vent that runs along the joists behind the drywall — invisible from every angle. Passed LA city inspection on the first walk. My daughter lit the first fire for her birthday party.
A few stops off the run sheet. Cap and crown work in Van Nuys, dryer-vent and flue cleaning in Sherman Oaks, cricket and flashing rebuilds in Panorama City. Every job photographed before and after, and the report lands in your inbox the same evening.
Stainless cap sized to Valley wind loads, set on a rebuilt crown
HEPA-vacuumed vent and flue clean — no soot on the original tile
Flashing and cricket rebuild ahead of the atmospheric-river season
A new Van Nuys company, opened this year by a sweep with two decades on Valley roofs. Small, sharp, and personally accountable on every hearth from Reseda to Sherman Oaks.
Opened in 2025 by Miriam K., a chimney sweep with 22 years on Valley rooftops before opening her own doors on Strathern Street.
Every visit gets a camera pass from firebox to cap and a written report with photos. No apprentice on a roof without a senior sweep alongside.
Every review from an actual Van Nuys, Sherman Oaks, Panorama City, North Hills, or Encino homeowner we have served. Real names on real invoices — the count grows the same way the shop does, one flue at a time.
Written quote before we start. The number you sign is the number you pay — no hourly meter, no add-ons at the door.
